Ryan E. Burks is a man with a life mission to bestow a legacy of discipline, hard work, and perseverance in the areas of Faith, Family, and Business. Mr. Burks is a highly motivated, versatile construction professional with over thirty years of progressive experience and technical expertise in project management and construction. He is a hands-on, proactive, proven leader recognized for abilities in design and construction.
Mr. Burks lives by the following creed: “Success is not an Accident.”
Mr. Burks grew up in the small town of New Sarpy, Louisiana. His father and uncles owned a residential construction business which is where Ryan learned about and developed a passion for the construction industry. After graduating from Tulane University with both a bachelors and master’s degree in civil engineering, he launched his professional career in 1992 as a design engineer in Atlanta, GA. Mr. Burks found RYCARS Construction, LLC with his wife, Stephanie in 2002. RYCARS stands for the family members of the Burks Family (RYan Caleb Arielle Ryan Stephanie).
Throughout its 22-year history, RYCARS has successfully completed commercial roofing projects exceeding $300 million in value. RYCARS has also been recognized as a Black Enterprise Top 100 Industrial/Services Business. RYCARS has performed successfully on projects in twelve (12) states. The company has completed roofs at high profile facilities such as Mercedes Benz Superdome, Johnson Space Center, and Kennedy Space Center.
Ryan believes in giving back to the community. He and his wife, Stephanie, have contributed over $1,000,000 to the communities they touch in the form of scholarships, donations, and in-kind gifts. RYCARS commits to regular community service hours with organizations such as Second Harvest Food Bank, Ozanam Inn, and Meals on Wheels. Mr. Burks has volunteered in local communities as a mentor to school children and as a coach for youth sports for nearly two decades. In addition to coaching and mentoring, Ryan is the Chairman of the Port of South Louisiana, an emeritus board member of Son of a Saint, and a board member of Ozanam Inn, Tulane University School of Science and Engineering, and GNO, Inc.
Ryan has been married to Stephanie McLendon Burks for 32 years with whom he has three children, Arielle, Ryan II and Caleb.
