What is Bowl-A-Thon?

The Bowl-A-Thon is Junior Achievement’s largest people-dependent annual fundraiser. The Bowl-A-Thon consists of employees from local companies and their family and friends forming a team of 5 bowlers to raise funds to benefit Junior Achievement. Each team of 5 is asked to raise a minimum of $700 in pledges. Each team will enjoy Free food, drinks, door prizes and more at each event.

 Why Bowl for Junior Achievement?

This year more than 1,500 volunteers from various area companies will donate their time to teach Junior Achievement programs to more than 30,000 students in grades K through 12. With the help of our fundraisers, Junior Achievement provides the program materials to the volunteers at no charge to use at participating JA schools.  The results…students are exposed to dynamic role models who reinforce the importance of education and staying in school while laying a foundation for success.  The more funds raised, the more programs JA can provide and the more students JA can reach!

What is my company’s obligation or goal?

Each participating company is asked to select a Company Coordinator to be the main contact between JA and your company. The Company Coordinator selects and motivates Team Captains, who recruit 4 team members to create a team of 5 bowlers. The Team Captains work with their team to raise the minimum team pledge and a $25.00 registration fee per bowler. Pledges are flat rate contributions made by the bowler's family, friends, co-workers, associates, neighbors, etc. Once your company has formed its teams, they will participate in the Bowl-A-Thon on a date arranged by the Team Captain and JA.

What are the benefits to my company?

The Bowl-A-Thon is a lot of fun and a great way for your company to have a social event while benefiting Junior Achievement. The event is also a team building opportunity, it allows company leaders to interact with employees and their families in a fun environment and it promotes awareness in the community that your company actively supports the education of our future workforce.

The Events

It’s a fun, informal event where your bowlers can meet and mingle with their co-workers or other participating companies while enjoying free food, drinks, prizes as well as learn more about Junior Achievement.
