JA BizTown
Elementary school students are not old enough to drive, work, vote, or be the boss. But that does not stop them from operating banks, managing restaurants, writing checks, and using debit cards at JA BizTown, where students connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world.
JA BizTown is available to students in grades 4-6 and consists of a comprehensive in-class curriculum that teaches valuable life skills that are at the core of all JA programming - financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship. Students run their own businesses during their visit to JA BizTown and fill a variety of roles - each storefront has a CEO, CFO, and several employees. JAGNO’s JA BizTown features storefronts from the likes of Chick-fil-A, Capital One Bank, Palmisano, Ochsner Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, and many more, giving students a wide array of opportunities to learn about the careers options in their future.
