Empowering the Next Generation
In this season of giving thanks, Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans stands as a beacon empowerment for the region’s youth because of donors and volunteers like you. Thank you to everyone who has supported the young people we serve this year!
Through JA’s transformative programs, we foster an entrepreneurial spirit, develop work readiness, and cultivate financial literacy in youth, paving the way for a brighter future.
With your help, we've introduced young people to the concepts of personal budgeting, investing, and responsible money management. As Michael Kelly and Jennifer Feske, volunteers from Hancock Whitney Bank, aptly observed in working with students who have been building their financial literacy skills with JA, "We were impressed with the level of knowledge regarding financial accounts, personal credit, and overall finance that many of the students already possessed."
Your commitment to our mission has also enabled us to foster a spirit of entrepreneurship among our youth. Through immersive simulations and real-world scenarios, we've guided students through the process of creating, managing, and growing their own businesses. As Brittany Smith, Principal of Hynes Charter UNO, eloquently stated, "Thank you so much for partnering with us to help expose our children to learning about entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills. Our students all spoke highly of the JA Day and enjoyed the experience."
Your generosity has not gone unnoticed by our students. Their enthusiasm and gratitude are a testament to the impact of your support. Bailey, an elementary student at Hynes Charter School Lakeview, expressed, "I like the Junior Achievement programs because we've learned a lot of skills to be successful in life." Similarly, Skylar, a student at Kingsley House, shared, "I like Junior Achievement because I've learned how to manage my money."
Your contributions have also extended beyond the classroom, enriching the lives of our volunteers. Kiosha Jefferson, a volunteer, and parent who remarked, "Volunteering at my child's school was such a rewarding experience. Connecting with my son and his class while teaching them about the society they live in is an experience I won't forget." Beth Carron, a volunteer from Hancock Whitney Bank, echoed this sentiment, stating, "Giving back to the community always makes you feel good. I especially like working with children, seeing the impact I can have on a child by volunteering is profoundly rewarding."
Maurice McMorris, Principal of Schaumburg Elementary and Middle School, expressed that "Junior Achievement is the perfect partnership for schools such as Schaumburg, as we focus on the real-world aspects of economics and global infrastructure, which are critical components of Social Studies."
The support of our community has enabled us to strengthen these partnerships, ensuring that our programs reach and empower even more students. On behalf of JA’s team, our students, and our community of educators, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering commitment. Your generosity has made a profound impact on the lives of our youth, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Together, we are empowering the next generation to become the leaders, innovators, and changemakers of tomorrow.
Thank you for believing in the power of Junior Achievement and for investing in the future of our community. To extend your support and help us reach out end of year goals, you can contribute here.
