Career Expo 2025
On March 19th, Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans and YouthForce NOLA proudly hosted the annual YouthForce NOLA and Junior Achievement Career Expo at UNO’s Lakefront Arena. This exciting event welcomed close to 2,000 students from over 20 New Orleans public high schools who spent hours discovering the multitude of career paths available in our region.
With the support of 72 employers and industry training providers, students didn’t just hear about careers—they experienced them firsthand. Future nurses and first responders jumped into action during CPR resuscitation races, feeling the adrenaline rush of saving a life. Aspiring engineers and utility workers watched in awe as sparking power lines and smashed watermelons demonstrated the critical role of safety in keeping our city powered up and keeping the maritime industry moving.
From health care to business services, skilled crafts to maritime industries, the Career Expo offered students a glimpse into high-paying, in-demand jobs. Companies and educators also emphasized the importance of soft skills—like communication, professionalism, and adaptability—that are just as essential as technical expertise in landing and retaining a job.
The Career Expo is a key initiative within Future Connect, a partnership between Junior Achievement and YouthForce NOLA designed to bridge the gap between education and career success. By connecting students with industry professionals, Future Connect helps shape the workforce of tomorrow.
A massive thank you to the incredible volunteers, educators, and business leaders who spent the day inspiring and mentoring students. Your dedication ensures that New Orleans students are future ready, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to build bright careers.
We can’t wait to see the impact of this year’s Career Expo and are already looking forward to an even bigger and better event next year!
