Team Member Spotlight: Madeline Hauck, Director of Education and School Support
Before joining JA, Madeline spent time as a high school French teacher and worked for two other educational nonprofits focused on Financial Literacy and Adult Education. Her passion for education is evident in her favorite part of the job: interacting directly with students. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see how our work at JA helps set students up for financial and career success,” Madeline shares.
One of the aspects she loves most about her role is helping students discover career paths by connecting them with professionals from the community. "I often find myself wishing I had more of these opportunities when I was in high school. Our volunteers say the same thing!" Madeline says.
Madeline credits much of her own financial knowledge to her parents, who both work in Finance. "My parents have always been extremely supportive and influential in my life," she says.
When she’s not busy supporting schools and students, Madeline dreams of visiting Nepal, her partner’s home country, and hopes to return to the South of France, where she studied abroad during college. A passionate crafter, she also has a personal goal: to learn how to sew her own clothes.
In her downtime, Madeline recently finished rewatching Call the Midwife and has just started Emily in Paris. She’s also enjoying A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske and listening to the audiobook You Have a Match by Emma Lord.
When it comes to local food, you might find her at Barracuda, savoring their broccoli tacos—one of her favorite dishes in New Orleans.
Madeline’s enthusiasm for education, her creative spirit, and her dedication to students make her an invaluable member of the Junior Achievement team!
